Semiliki Christmas Appeal

For our Christmas appeal this year we are raising funds to get three building projects finished. Thanks to your generous support many of these projects are well advanced, but more is needed to get them finished.

We need $10,000 to complete the new maternity at St Matthieu Hospital. This work has been supported with a generous grant from ECHO, but an extra wing has been added to the construction to provide more rooms for women with their babies.

We would also like to send $10,000 to help finish the operating block at Masiki Hospital in Butembo. Masiki also needs more orthopaedic operating equipment (interlocking and fragement sets).

In Kamango, the new laboratory needs $5,000 to get it finished. Kamango also needs $25,000 to re-equip the operating theatre that was struck by lightning. But before sending any new equipment we would like to support them getting a lighting conductor up to protect the whole hospital site, which may cost as much as $5,000. This will be need to be made of thick copper cable, with as much as two meters buried to earth it correctly.
