We only collect personal information from Semiliki supporters so that we can keep you informed of Semiliki activities via the regular blogs and occasional emails.
We process that information for this distribution of news about Semiliki, to comply with legal obligations (e.g. the retention of Gift Aid declarations), and keep it protected and secure. We will not sell or transfer your personal information to any third party.
When processing that information our legitimate interests and our legal obligation as lawful bases for processing. Our legitimate interests are, in line with our charitable objectives:
- Relieve sickness and human suffering and to promote health.
- Prevent and relieve poverty.
- Advance religion and promote reconciliation.
- supporting projects, currently all eastern DRC, with which its members have a personal contact.
We use Google Analytics to collect information about the use of our website. We collect the information so that we can improve our website.
This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.
By signing up to receive our newsletter, you provide your email address via the company Mailchimp. This is used principally for sending out the blog, but occasionally it may be used to inform you of a particular appeal. The only information that is stored is of how often you have looked at a blog. Your email is kept securely and is not shared with any other parties outside of Semiliki Trust.
If you make a donation directly to Semiliki Trust’s bank account, there is a record of the payment in the bank statement. If you make a donation via one of the online giving platforms, your email is then held by the platform, either Donation Manager (TotalGiving), Virgin Money, Just Giving or Stewardship. The payment is via Paypal, which stores information about the transaction.
We will delete personal information from our records upon request and confirm that we have done so. We will only then retain so much of that information as we need to retain in order to comply with legal obligations (e.g. Gift Aid declarations) and will delete or destroy it when that legal obligation no longer applies.
You have a right to request a copy of the information we hold about you. We will provide you with this information within one month of receiving your request and verifying your identity. You also have the right to contact us if you believe your personal information is incorrect or if you believe we no longer have the right to retain it. Please contact privacy@semiliki-trust.org.uk if you wish your personal information to be removed from our records. If you have a complaint, please email complaint@semiliki-trust.org.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
